Ella Update

We took Ella to the doctor July 3rd because we were very concerned about the way she was holding her head. She had been holding her head up very well but all of a sudden her head was always cocked to the right. So we took her in (she weighed 9 1/2 pounds) and found out that she has Torticollis. Torticollis is usually caused by trauma at birth and shows up around two months of age. But because Ella was born two months early it didn't show up until she was four months old. It is when the muscles on her right side of her neck are tight. So we are doing head stretches everyday to loosen the muscles in her neck. She will start physical therapy next week to teach me how to help Ella to strengthen her neck muscles and to stretch them out. She is such a sweet girl and just goes along with what we are doing to her and her neck. It should take a few months to get her neck straight again.
